Welcome to May,

This month, our guest is a woman of substance, who out of curiosity and adventure turned her hobby into a full time business.

Guess who she is?

Let’s know all about our guest for the month of May

Fitness Coach Btrim n healthy

A.

My name is Cynthia Ibanga. An extremely busy mom of 2 adorable kids. Am a certified lifestyle and weight management coach and the CEO of BTrim N Healthy.

Q.

Tell us more about BTRIM n Healthy.

A.

BTNH is a Health and Fitness company known for her expertise in weight loss coaching. We are committed to helping our clients achieve a Trim N Healthy Body.

BTNH Is not a crash-diet or a fire brigade approach to weight loss. We coach our client to embrace “Healthy Eating Every Day” and exercise regularly which is the best way to achieving and maintaining a healthy weight. Healthy eating and Physical activity also prevents many unwanted diseases.

We work with our clients both online and offline and we have various classes for various needs.

Q.

What inspired you to become an online entrepreneur?

A.

Well, the whole thing was not planned. It just happened. Being Online allows you reach a lot of people in different parts of the world. I started with a group of friends on WhatsApp and it wasn’t bad at all. So I decided that this could work. I can actually coach people to lose weight online. All I need do is have a group, an online presence and ways to communicate with them daily.

Q.

A female engineer turned a fitness and health coach, what’s the reason behind the switch?

A.

I have always been passionate about being trim, healthy n fit and when I could not get a 9-5 job after i relocated to Nigeria from Ghana, I decided to do something I have always wanted to do.

Initially, it was for the fun of it. Helping friends shed weight but after sometime, I decided to reach out to more people. That’s when the business idea came.

O yea? Weight management specialist.. Let’s go for it..!

Q.

Have you ever been employed?

A.

Yea I have. From 2008-2012

Q.

What’s the difference in being employed and being self employed?

A.

I think being employed is easier than being self employed. Apart from the fact that you have to wake up and answer to someone, you work 9-5 and close for the day but being self employed, like what I do, requires that I work  every day, 5am -11pm..

Except for Sundays which I have consciously set aside for rest

Q.

Which do you prefer?

A.

Being an entrepreneur. There is this satisfaction that comes with working for yourself and seeing results. Though we are  not where we wish to be, but we are making good progress.

Q.

What’s the darnest thing, your cute kids have said or done to you?

A.

Wow, I can remember when my little daughter said ” Mom do you wear pampers too”?

Q.

what’s your toughest parenting moment?

A.

Parenting is a blessing and I pray for grace everyday.

Sometimes am not even sure am doing the right thing…lol

One of the toughest times for me was having to take care of my sick child for a long time. I was not prepared for it but Gods grace was sufficient

Q.

Thank God for his grace, he is always there to strengthen us even when we try giving up.

Do you have a fitness plan for kids?

A.

None for now but we will in the nearest future

Q.

What advice do you have for some of our parents especially moms who would like to be self employed?

A.

Don’t wait till the plan looks perfect before you start..,

Start from somewhere, make mistakes, learn and grow.

Believe in yourself and what you have to offer…

Don’t be intimidated by the big names rather carve your own niche and do something that differentiates you from other entrepreneurs.

One step at a time, one day at a time…with God, all things are possible.

Q.

One of our previous guests said ” the office of the husband is the greatest”

how do you manage that office with your busy schedule?

A.

My husband is my rock, my best friend, my support system. The reason I find strength to keep pushing and working hard. Though sometimes , he complains am not giving him enough time..*winks lol but he is always there for me and helps out with the kids when I cannot.
