Are Entrepreneurs born or made? Hrtrepreneur , Blogger at Convenience, Wife and Mother
Welcome to our parentinggist parent of the month of April 2017, let’s meet our guest…Ma, can we know all about you?
My name is Pee Otigbu. I am a people management practitioner, a HRtrepeneur. I am also a convenience blogger-this means i blog only when its convenient for me or when i feel very pertinent to put out an information, doesn’t sound serious right?. I am a wife and a mum with the mum part being the most demanding.
Interesting! A HRtrepeneur, blog at convince, a wife and a mum! Can you throw more light on HRtrepeneur for some of our readers ?
Part of my work life is managing people amongst other job functions i have performed and i can tell you that managing people is the most difficult task. The HRentrepreneur is about HR and more.
As HRtrepreneur, you don’t only need knowledge, skills and a 6th sense to work but God’s wisdom. Also the HRtrepeneur role is a value driven one, the value must be seen,it must be felt.
Its a role that takes up initiatives, satisfy with solutions, it’s futuristic and does not get lost in process. The HR role can be intimidated but the HRentrepreneur role intimidates into being impactful and creative.
Again when it comes to the people
side of HR, it generally caters to people in organisations but HRentrepreneur caters to people within organisations and outside organisations, people can be found outside organisations and such structures doing things as well.
Awesome ! How does it feel being a HRtrepeneur and a Mum?
Interesting i must say. Each is a distinct role and sort of overlaps at the same time. Being a mom is a like a school, i learn everyday – its a school you are never prepared for, it keeps one on her toes. You are either gaining new experiences with each child, learning how to and how not to.You also never graduate from this school.
Being a mom is aspiring cause it directs my ambitions, dreams and thoughts. They both inspire me and are fulfilling.
I love this, ” Being a mom is like a school, I learn everyday ” Can you share with us some of the lessons you’ve left so far in the parenthood journey?
Lessons I have learned so far
- Each child is different, and is to be handled differently ,it’s never a one size fits all.
- You don’t have to be perfect to get it right.
- There is really no right or wrong formula for parenting. Click To Tweet
- That it’s a full time job whether i am around or not.
- I am now responsible for others,it’s no longer about me.
- Learn to take care of myself in the midst of it all.
Great lessons you’ve taught us Ma. What advice do you have for parents who would like to take the HRtrepeneur path?
The interest has to be there; you have to be sure this is what you want, and the belief that it can be done.
The opportunity to be a HRtrepeneur may not present itself but it can be created. Seeking the HRtrepeneur path may require one to work as a volunteer, work for free or as an intern to get in.
Shadow a person already on this path or get information on the activities of the role is important.
Everyday we learn, however whenever you get the opportunity, soak up as much as you can to improve knowledge and self. Continuous professional improvement is non negotiable.
In learning, get professionalism.
Have an entrepreneurial mindset.
